Hillsdale Residence

While in Countryvale we had mostly Chinese residents. Hillsdale has ended up with quite a mix of people from all walks of life. There are mixes of Chinese, Malays, Bidayuhs and Ibans. We are proud to be able to built homes for all the different racial and religious background of Sarawak. Our statistics shows that there are currently 14 family of Chinese, 8 families of Malay and 13 families of Bidayuhs and Ibans and another whom I shall not mention from a nearby country.

Recently I had the pleasure of being invited by Mr. Tan Hd residents to attend a wedding ceremony at a church near Hillsdale. I gladly turn up with my camera and happilly zapping away. These are some of the photos taken on that auspicious day. Mr Tan who is staying at Hd 22 is a family full of police officers. If remembered correctly, he is a retired policeman whose son and daughters are also mostly police officers, even his brand new son in law a Sabahan is also a policeman. Hopefully with so many police officers as residents we will have a peaceful neighbourhood!

A beautiful wedding indeed!

The Beautiful Bride

The handsome grandson, probably also a future police officer!

A very devoted Christian, Mr Tan of Hd22

Hillsdale (Phase2) & Serambi Samariang (Phase1)

Call Now for booking! 082-480018, 016-889 2681/2/3

Hillsdale & Serambi Samariang

Following the remarkable sales success of Countryvale, CJK Development has unveiled its latest stable of contemporary stylishly designed homes Hillsdale located at 10th Mile and Serambi Semariang located at Bandar Baru Samariang.

Hillsdale at 10th Mile and Serambi Semariang are premier residential havens that offer a limited selection of three eye-catching architectural designs; double storey semi-detached and double storey terrace. They epitomise a neigbourhood-focused environment and a relaxed natural country lifestyle.

Single Storey Semi-D

What makes homes at Hillsdale and Serambi Semariang stand out is the character. Families of all ages and value savvy buyers would undoubtedly appreciate the spacious livability, design versatility and simplicity of the houses. To crown it all, prices are surprisingly attractive and home buyers stand to gain from its exceptional solid ringgit-to-ringgit new home value.

Not only does the size and quality of the home counts, but also the benefits. A spacious front car porch sets a welcoming tone. The car porches of a double storey terrace and semi-detached can house two or three cars. The car porch of a single storey semi-detached has distinct features; it can accommodate three cars side by side. It has two separate gates and there is even a porte-cochere which is a master car park area

Double Storey Terrace

A practical open plan concept is evident on the ground floor. This consideration allows home buyers interior décor options and the flexibility to specifically delineate the living and dining areas according to their needs. Another notable characteristic of the single-storey semi detached is the side entrance to the living and dining area thus ensuring that the owners have some privacy.

Upon entering the houses, one experiences a dramatic impact of roominess which is created by the high ceilings. All living rooms have pleasant foliage views as they overlook green courtyards. The installation of air wells ensures that houses are well ventilated and lighted naturally. Toilets complete with vanity counters are located within the living rooms for easy access.

Private side yards known as terraces could be converted into patios. Besides providing a place for children to play, they are also suitable for patio-dining, entertaining and relaxing.

The kitchens are quite far removed from the main areas. Other additional features are a laundry area and a study room. The study room of a double storey semi-detached overlooks a landscaped garden. Power points for air-conditioning units and lightings have also been thoughtfully incorporated.

Lack of sufficient storage space has often been a sore point with most house buyers. Acknowledging this malady, the house designs have integrated a value added feature; ample and expandable storage space at the entrance foyer beneath the staircase and surrounding bathroom areas. Shelves can be discreetly built-in to store items such as shoes and linens.

House buyers can view what both developments, Hillsdale and Serambi Samariang have to offer at its show houses which are located at Hillsdale, 10th Mile. The show houses are open for viewing by appointment only. Only limited units are avalable for Hillsdale. Early bird specials available bookings at Serambi Samariang. For enquiries, please call CJK Development Sdn Bhd on 082-480018, 016-8892681/2/3 (Ian).

Countryvale (2003)

COUNTRYVALE (CV)
My first foray into property development in 2003. Situated along Jalan Stephen Yong, away from the hustle and bustle of other housing development in Kuching. This was the only land that was available to me at the time. This development consists of 22 units of double storey house and 6 units of double storey semi-d with 1 detached land.

CV GOTONG-ROYONG ACTIVITIES

Countryvale, the flagship residential estate with its trademark "community living" concept of Cjk Development Sdn Bhd speaks volumes about the man behind it, Ian Chung. As he envisages it:

"乡村谷"以及其标志性的"社区生活"概念, 反映出项目背后领导人鍾传兴对房屋发展深刻的见解。正如他所预见的:

"Today it is not just about owning a home, it's also coming home to a caring community who look out for each other. All the more, it should be promoted as this would have great impact on the socio-fabric of the neighbourhood."

"今天,已经不仅仅是拥有一个住家, 而是要回到一个充满相互关爱,邻里互助, 社区式的家。更为重要得是, 它应该被大力提倡, 因为这将对邻里型的社会结构产生积极的重大影响."

Putting this aspiration at the heart of everything he builds has invariably earned Countryvale the signature tagline of 'Good Living in the Suburb' and the accolade of being the only housing estate to be certified by Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) as their Model Community. Clean tidy surroundings, know thy neighbours and organised joint acivities.

CV GET-TOGETHER ACTIVITIES

Countryvale is a great success story of a neighbourhood whose residents strongly believe that the key to creating a safe and idyllic sanctuary is to cultivate and instill residential neighbourhood values and that special sense of solidarity amongst themselves.

"乡村谷"是一个社区生活的成功故事。成功的关键, 是居民深信创造一个安全和田园诗般的家园, 在于培养居民间守望相助的价值观念和彼此团体的特殊责任感。

Tuscany

Ever since I was young I had dream of living in a home with curve staircase, high ceiling, floor to ceiling windows surrounded with gardens. In 1997, chance come upon me to built a house which I later called Tuscany and this is what I had created. It was not planned to be Mediterranean in design but somehow it came out the way it is.

I have always like trees, so I went to the extreme and planted all sort of trees. Rain tree, kaya tree, yellow flame, red flame, goa tree, royal palms, etc. As the garden is ever growing, it needs to be maintained often.

Living room. To achieve the Mediterranean look, I have used terracotta tiles, with fabric white sofa and timber pieces for furniture together with faded lime wash paint to create a cosy look which ended up quite nice!

Living room overlooking dining room. Had always dream of playing a piece on the baby grand and I actually enrolled to learn, eventually everyone in the family did learn how to play, except me. The piano's colour is wood grained to blend it with the home for a rustic feel.

Family room. Tuck in the corner is the favourite hangout for the kids, perhaps of the TV and proximity to the food!

Timber decking surrounded by garden. We can actually dine here anytime of the day since the the sun is pretty much shaded by the house and trees.

Dining Room. Remembered the first time we dine here with the whole clan of Chungs when we first move in. Felt out of place as the home is just so different from my parent's. Imagine, Tuscany in Kuching!

Kitchen. So called dry kitchen. Never really cook here. The island has since been changed to become more user friendly. Good job by my wife.

Entrance Lobby. I still remember how I drag up the two big terracotta pot up the ledge. Back then we did not really know how to decorate the home. Some decisions are better than others and it continue to evolve albeit at a slower pace now that everything is pretty much in place.
